Application
The consumer market for mixed fatty acids may be divided into three relatively independent segments:
- used as substitute combustible beyond the Federal Republic of Germany (Scandinavian and Benelux countries) or as additive in huge power plants (co-firing)
- basic material and substitute for rapeseed oil when producing biodegradable lubricants for the application in lubrication systems (e.g. chainsaw oil)
- raw material for the chemical industry
Furthermore, 30–40 % of mixed fatty acids may be used as rapeseed oil substitute in new generation biodiesel plants. A further interesting sales market is thus born.
